Courtroom dramas are a genre that never runs out of attention, and Bharat Jadhav enters the world of yet another courtroom drama that looks like it ticks all the boxes of a good drama. The trailer for Kon Yashwant Pansare has been dropped, and this drama on Zee5 establishes a world centered around guilt, system failures, and corruption. We meet Yashwant Pansare (Bharat Jadhav), a lawyer who gave up on the justice system years ago after a personal failure. However, when a suspicious death forces him out of his shell, he teams up with a headstrong, idealistic young lawyer to file a public interest litigation against the establishment.

The premise on paper is looking interesting, but the trailer is not keeping me hooked somehow. Director Anand Dilip Gokhale has assembled all the right ingredients: a broken protagonist seeking redemption, a powerful system working against him, and a formidable rival lawyer played by Pushkar Shrotri. Yet, as the trailer unfolds, the narrative feels very familiar. Moreover, the trailer looks like it has been edited very loosely, failing to generate any intrigue!

Bharat Jadhav grounds the trailer of Kon Yashwant Pansare with his raw screen presence. He brings a weathered exhaustion to Yashwant Pansare that instantly makes you feel for the character. Pushkar Shrotri acts as a fine competitor, bringing enough drama. However, the trailer looks more like a daily soap and does not have enough elements to keep you hooked!

The predictable dialogue beats are failing to create enough intrigue. The visuals cut between past guilt and present courtroom arguments without building any sharp storyline! At times it looks like an investigative thriller, in other frames it tries to be a courtroom drama! Kon Yashwant Pansare promises to be a sincere courtroom drama with Bharat Jadhav at its heart. While it has all the fundamental pieces in place, it lacks the thrill and spark that would make me want to watch this one on Zee5.
